A look back at 2015

2015 has been quite a year for me personally, so I thought I'd share with you some of my highlights from the first full year of me taking this photography thing seriously.

In April I embarked on a career with a Creative Agency, which has been an extremely educational experience which has given me the chance to be creative everyday, aswell as the chance to move to a new city full of new opportunities which I couldn't have imagined getting a year ago...

My aim for 2015 was to concentrate on music photography, and my plan was to try and do a couple of local gigs each month, but I certainly exceeded my own expectations in this field thanks to some new connections I made. Being in a photo pit for the first time ever at The Blackout's final ever show in March as part of my new job was an adrenaline rush, and an experience I'll remember for a long time, and since then I've been lucky enough to photograph a bunch of bands who I've been a fan of for years! I've also had the chance to photograph a fairly well known festival, and have been paid for my services (which is something I wasn't even slightly expecting).

Another suprise I had this year is that I've also become more interested in portrait work. This is something which I didn't think I'd enjoy since I saw myself as more of a documentary style photographer, but I've done a few shoots this year (including one which got me the cover of Western Mail Magazine (which is distributed with Wales' national newspaper)).

So yeah, this year has been full of pleasant suprises, which I hope I can build on in 2016, and I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me, and given me the chance to try new things!

My aims in 2016 are;
- To go out on more adventures with my camera
- To work with bands more directly, and to go on tour
- To produce more independent video content

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
