Today marks one year since I started working with Orchard Media & Events, and what a year it's been! I've been given a ton of great opportunities, and I've learnt a lot in the process.
One day that really stands out though was my first day working with the company... Orchard gave me the chance to take my Music Photography to the next level, and to move up from photographing small club shows to photographing bands I'd been a fan of for years and years - in this instance, The Blackout. I got to shoot the sound check and a meet and greet before entering the pit for the first time, and it was such an adrenaline rush... The addition of a more elaborate lighting show, and a more choreographed routine made shooting gigs even more exciting for me, and the experience left me itching for more.
Since then I've probably photographed around 100 bands - including Slipknot, who were a band I could only have dreamed of ever photographing this time last year, and I still get the same feeling as I did when I stepped into the pit at Merthyr Leisure Centre to shoot The Blackout.
The past year has been awesome, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what the next brings. THANKS ORCHARD!!!
